A Christmas Bubbleshooter
These bubble shooter games will never replace the classic Snood, but at least this one has a festive Christmas theme. And the game promises unlimited levels, making it a rarity in the Mac App Store — a 100-per-cent free game that’s actually worth playing.
Amoebax
Amoebas drop in colour-combination pairs. Guide them so you get four of a colour at the bottom to make them disappear. A lot like Puyo Pop from Sega.

Tetris and Same Game combine in this game that’s been around for years as a Web-based Flash game. You have to be quick, but otherwise it’s mindless time-killer. Download from the Mac App Store

Torus Trooper
The description alone should be enough to entice you: “Speed! More speed! Speeding ship sailing through barrage!” This vertical shooter has you driving forward through a tube with plenty of enemies along the way. It’s similar to the arcade game Tempest. And yes, there is an abundance of speed.
X-Moto
Physics play an important role in this 2D motocross platform game. You’ll be pushed to the limit in an effort to control your bike as challenges become increasingly difficult.
