A proliferation of freeware
We’ve been trying to resist linking to people’s lists of favourite Mac freeware lately because there are so many of them, but sometimes we come across a doozy — and UsingMac has one of them. A total of 22 sources of Mac apps — mostly freeware and shareware — is listed along with an analysis of which apps show up the most and a pie chart showing the frequency of mentions for all the programs.
Another site of note is called AppDonkey. It has a different kind of interface — you put the freeware apps you want into a download area, then click to have them all download at once. As an innovation it’s quite interesting.
