Paddery

Like much of the rest of the world, we’ve gone iPad crazy here at thriftmac. And with the arrival of the device via FedEx yesterday, we couldn’t resist starting up a blog about it. It’s called paddery.

So far, there are a few impressionistic pieces, and there are plans for app reviews and thoughts on the iPad’s usability. It’s like setting out into uncharted territory filled with a sense of wonder tempered by apprehension over hidden dangers.

I promise not to make this a fanboi site, although I have to admit that at this point I am clearly smitten and perhaps overly willing to overlook the faults. Hope you enjoy it — there’s a contact link if you have any feedback.

  1. Had mine since day one. I am known as a bit of a gadget freak but this is, without doubt the most exciting piece of technology I have ever bought. I take it with me everywhere. The range of apps, growing fast, is amazing. Everywhere I go people come up and say “ hey is that one of those?……” Yeah, it’s an ipad. “WOW, they’re expensive aren’t they?” Yep. Bet you want one don’t you? Connectivity is a bit of a pain, but you get used to it. If anyone had told me I would like a device that only worked through itunes I would have laughed and fallen out of a window. However, consider this. I am on a train, reading a paper (yes, a paper) and see a review of a book. It looks good so I whip out my ipad, fire up kindle, buy the book and within a minute or two I am reading it! That’s cool.
