The worm has a name
Congratulations to James Young of Eugene, Oregon, and Ron Silva of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, for winning our Name the Worm, Win a Bug contest. Early on, James came up with the idea of Scrimpy. The judges liked it a lot, and figured it was the one to beat. No one beat it, but Ron equalled it by coming up with the same name. At that point, we had no choice but to declare both of them winners of a free copy of Shutterbug.
If you submitted a name and didn’t win, don’t forget to use the coupon code you received for a discount on Shutterbug. This is one of the best programs you’ll ever find for website creation, so check it out and take advantage of those discounts before the deadline of Jan. 15.
Just for fun, we also have a couple of “unofficial” prizes to hand out. Winner of the most original idea is Richard Lennox for Whigmaleerie, described as anything whimsical or fanciful in the Scots dictionary. Winner of the strangest name is Derrick Streng for Bogety, “because he looks like a booger with a face.” Really?
To everyone who participated, I would like to say this has been a lot of fun, and I hope you enjoyed it as well. Later on, I’ll redo the worm graphic to put the Scrimpy name underneath it.
