Three fascinating games
Three freeware games have come across the thriftmac desk in recent days — and all three contribute to the renaissance of quality games for the Mac.
Glest is a 3D real time strategy game with beautiful graphics and sounds, which has been recently ported to the Mac. Much more information about this award-winning game can be found at the main site.
UFO: Alien Invasion places you in the far-future, where you defend Earth from a brutal alien enemy. “Build up your bases, prepare your team, and dive head-first into the fast and flowing turn-based combat.”
Tremulous has players building structures used for spawning and other functions. “Builders must ensure there are spawn structures or other players will not be able to rejoin the game after death.” A Mac download doesn’t seem to be possible from the main site, but you can grab it at MacUpdate
