Vive le freeware
For freeware junkies, this just might be the best program you’ve never heard of.
KidiFree contains a database of 386 (and counting) freeware programs organized by category. Each has a description, a screenshot and a quick way to download it. You can perform searches and check out the Top 10.
And to top it off, KidiFree contains a number of Mac-oriented tutorials and access to web-based radio stations.
So what’s the catch? It’s in French. That’s no problem if you speak the language or, if like me, you know enough to get by. Some of the programs have English descriptions, but not many. And even at that they’re obviously translations — some of which are hard to understand.
But if you can get past all that, you may find you’ve died and gone to freeware heaven. There is much to explore here. I have to admit there are some programs I had never heard of.
If you can’t get enough of freeware, and French is no problem for you, saunter over here to check out KidiFree and its companion magazine FreewarePub.
