What happened to wClock?

One of thriftmac’s top 10 apps has gone missing. wClock puts the time, the day and the date on your menu bar—a simple little thing you can’t do with your Mac straight out of the box. We’ve been using wClock for years. But today we discovered that the wClock website, wolfware.com, is down and out.

If anyone knows what happened to wClock or Wolfware, please let us know.

Update: MenuCalendarClock will also put the time, day and date in the menu bar, along with a pop-down calendar. If you pay for the full version, it will also keep track of your iCal items.

Update2: iusethis.com has a link to a mirror that will download wClock. Look in the comments section.

  1. Actually, the Mac WILL put time day, and date in the menu, right out of hte box; if you go into Time/Date, select International, then DATE, then CUSTOMIZE. Then create a date format, but don’t actually save it; copy your date config. Now switch to the TIME setup, and paste the ddate setup after the time. Works great.

  2. Hmm. Easy for you, maybe … ;)

  3. Bob’s solution is an interesting workaround, but still doesn’t provide the exact look of wClock, not to mention its great little calendar window.
