At version 5, Blender continues as one of best FOSS

There isn’t much in the way of free and open source software that comes close to dominating its category. Blender rivals Maya (at a couple hundred dollars a month) as the standard for 3D modeling and animation.

LibreOffice and GIMP have been around for a long time, but there is little chance of them ever de-throning Microsoft Office or Photoshop.
